在传统的英语教学课堂中，教师在学习者对自己提出的问题做出答复后，一般都会给出一个定性反馈，终止与回答问题学习者的会话。以21世纪大学英读写教程第三册(修订版)Unit 4 College Pressure为例:
(1) T: Why don’t students like the author’s vision of future?
S: Because the author reminds them that the road aheadis a long one and that it will have more unexpected turns thanthey think.
T: Yes, very good.
(2)T: Why don’t students like the author’s vision of future?
S: I don’t know.
T: Anybody else knowes?
