词汇和背景知识在英语阅读课程中的联系

Abstract
      
English reading lessons play an important role in the process of English learning. The traditional way to improve students’ reading skill is stressing vocabulary size, linguistic knowledge and grammatical conception. Most of students think that their main problem failed in reading is vocabulary, undoubtedly, vocabulary is very important for their reading comprehension. However, when students don’t possess related background knowledge or understand context completely, it’s hard for them to comprehend. So when we teach reading, we should teach not only the meaning of words and grammar, but also some related background knowledge, and also should recognize and cope with their correlation. Only in this way, student can master the language well.

摘 要

   英语阅读课在英语学习中起着很重要的作用。提高学生的英语阅读能力,传统的方法仅注重于词汇量、语言知识和语法概念。大部分学生认为阅读的主要问题就是词汇量的多少，毫无疑问，词汇对与学生的阅读理解起着很大的作用。然而，当学生不具备相关的背景知识或不完全理解上下文时，就很难达到理解。所以，词汇与背景知识在阅读理解中同样重要。阅读课中，既要教学生怎么去处理生词，还要传授与之相关的背景知识.同时，还要认识并处理好它们之间的相关性。
