中美礼貌用语跨文化对比分析

A Comparative Analysis of Sino-US Courtesy Phrase from the Perspective of Cross-culture

Abstract

With the developing of economic globalization, cross-cultural interactions become more and more frequent. As we know, China is a biggest developing country and the most populations’ nation on earth and America is the world’s largest industrial power. Those two countries’ good friendship plays an important role in the world economy. However, a lot of conflicts exist very commonly among the different cultural backgrounds, which hinder people from communicating with each other. Politeness, as a universal phenomenon, plays a critical role in the intercultural communication and makes effect in establishing and maintaining social harmony and prescribing individuals linguistic behavior. Therefore, this thesis gives a comparative analysis of Sino-US courtesy phrase from the perspective of cross-culture. The present thesis begins with reviewing and generalizing the definitions and theories of politeness that has been proposed by scholars from home and abroad, and then introduces some different polite phenomena in communicating through contrastive analysis. Based on these researches, this thesis mainly analyzes the reasons for different politeness between China and America.

摘  要

随着经济全球化的发展，国际交往也变得越来越频繁。众所周知，中国是世界上发展最快的发展中国家，而美国是经济最发达的发达国家,这两者之间的友好关系，对世界经济的发展起着重要的作用。然而，在跨文化交际中，由于文化背景的不同而造成的文化冲突也屡见不鲜，严重影响了交往的顺利进行。礼貌是各种文化所共有的1种社会性现象。它制约人们的言行，协调着人们的社会性关系和交际活动，在跨文化交际中起着至关重要的作用。因此，本文主要探讨了跨文化交际中中美礼貌用语的差异。本文首先回顾并总结了中西方学者在礼貌的定义和理论研究方面已取得的成果，然后采用了对比分析的方法，列举了1些中美日常生活中所出现的1些差异现象。在这些研究的基础上，本文主要分析了产生这些差异现象的原因。
