中英恭维语对比研究

 A Chinese-English Contrastive Study of Compliment

Abstract

    Different languages have the same types of speech acts, the use of interpersonal verbal routines such as complimenting, greeting and thanks is examined as a universal phenomenon of human language. It is also a universal truth that different speech communities have different routines and rules in communicative interactions due to diverse cultural norms. While in human’s speech acts, compliment is used more frequently than other speech acts. Compliments have recently caught the interests of many linguists in contrastive studies．Compliments vary cross-culturally in their linguistic forms，frequency, distribution and responses．On the basis of the data provided by some scholars, first this is a simple introduction of compliment and its function in my thesis. Then, it continues to analyses the factors, which cause communication difficulties in cross-cultural encounter. Next, it compares the similarities and differences of complimenting from the following three aspects: structure； responding patterns and reflection on cultural values of compliments. Finally, this thesis analyses the influence on intercultural communication.

摘  要

    人类语言中有许多相同的言语行为如恭维语，称呼语，致谢语等，这些相同的言语行为受文化习俗的影响，存在着1定的差异。在人类的言语交际中恭维语是1种使用频率较高的言语交际行为。本文旨在通过对英汉语言中恭维语差异的研究，使人们了解言语行为在不同文化中是如何实施的。因此，在以往1些学者研究数据的基础上，本文首先对恭维语以及功能做了简单的介绍。在此基础上，本文分析了引起跨文化交集障碍的因素，并从语言形式、应答方式和语言所反映出的文化差异3个方面比较和分析了恭维语在中英文化中的相似和不同。最后还对因语言差异而对跨文化交际造成的影响进行了简要分析。文章在以以往学者的研究为理论基础进行的分析与研究，证明了语言与文化之间水乳交融的关系，并展示文化存在于每1个具体的语言行为之中。
