Abstract
For a long time, a lot of educationists and linguists have never stopped studying foreign language teaching. In our country, National Education Department revised the English course standards in 2003, which put forward a series of new ideas of foreign language teaching, in which the most important idea is “learner-centeredness”. With the finalization of the new English course standards, great changes have taken place in English teaching. As the same time, teachers’ roles ought to change. This paper, taking teachers as the researching object, deals with teachers’ different roles in the new English course classroom as well as in the traditional English classroom. This will make people, especially English teachers, know that teacher is a key factor in the reformation of English teaching and how important for teachers to change their roles in the classroom.

摘 要
自上世纪下半叶以来,国内外许多教育学家和语言学家对外语教学及其方法的探索和研究就从未间断过。我国教育部于2003年修订了中学英语课程标准,提出了1系列新的外语教学理念,其中最为突出重要的就是以学生为中心。根据英语新课程标准的基本理念,英语语言教学发生了巨大的变化,包括教学方法、教学模式等各个方面。因此,教师的角色转变也将是1个刻不容缓的问题。本文将教师作为研究对象,在我国英语新课程理念的指导下,研究比较英语教师在传统课程课堂中与在新课程标准下课堂中的不同角色,探究其角色所发生的改变,使人们,特别是英语教师,能够认识到教师是外语教学改革的关键。
