论《看不见的人》的叙事艺术

The Narration of Invisible Man

Abstract

Invisible Man was written by a black writer, Ralph Ellison. Being his novel, Invisible Man established Ellison’s irrefutable position in America. In Invisible Man, Ellison realized his artistic ideals. The following aspects illustrate the points: First, the novel is used first-person narration, cumulative plot and flashback. The novel possesses a distinctive structure with the prologue at the beginning, while following the development of the plot, the prologue is also a continuity of the end; Second, the author uses the narration of music to reveal the hero’s failure、agony and sadness；Third, other writing skills, such as naturalism, expressionism and surrealism, are combined together to make the novel possess its perpetual charm. The paper focuses on the novel’s narrative features. And my thesis analyzes the narration of Indivisible Man from the narration model, black music and different writing skills.

摘  要

《看不见的人》是美国黑人作家拉尔夫•艾里森1生所创作的唯11部小说，但是它却确立他在美国黑人文学界和美国文学界的地位。在这部小说中，艾里森实现了自己的艺术理想，主要表现在：首先,小说采用了第1人称叙事手法，采用1种层积累叠的情节，并运用了倒叙的写作手法。这样，小说1开始就将结局展现在读者面前，然后读者又随主人公1起追述故事；其次这部小说以音乐叙事的手段来叙述主人公过去的失败、痛苦和忧伤；最后随着情节的发展，作者还使用不同的写作手法，如自然主义、表现主义和超现实主义等等，从而使这部小说的艺术具有1种永恒、独特的魅力。本文的论题就聚集在作品的艺术特点上，从叙事模式、布鲁斯和爵士乐以及不同的写作手法的结合来分析《看不见的人》的叙事艺术。
