从英汉文化差异的角度来理解英语的表达特点

Comprehending the English Expressions from the Perspective of Differences Between English and Chinese Cultures

Abstract

Language is the carrier of culture and reflects different cultural backgrounds. At the same time, language is restricted by culture. Learning or using a foreign language involves not only in understanding of the language itself but also a complete knowledge about the cultural background. So the thesis first probes into the relationship between language and culture from aspects of mutual reflection and mutual influences. Then it states the factors that influence language expression: historical background, religions and beliefs, living environment and geographic positions. At last it makes an analysis of cultural differences on lexical level and syntactic level.

语言是文化的载体,语言反映不同的文化背景，同时又受文化的制约。因此成功的学习和运用外语不但需要深刻理解这种语言，更需要透彻了解与这种语言密切相关的文化。因此本首先从语言与文化的相互反映，相互影响论述了语言与文化的关系，然后分析了影响语言表达的因素：历史背景，宗教信仰，生活环境和地理位置。最后对英汉词汇，句法的文化差异进行了分析。
