The Improvement of English Reading Comprehension
Abstract
Reading is one of the main ways to get information from the outside world. In the days of rapid development of science, technology and media, because of the close contact between china and English countries, English seems more and more important in all kinds of fields. However, the communication of information poses new challenges to reading comprehension ability. Although a great number of students spend a lot of time on reading, they cannot achieve good results, most of whom have the problem of “high in-put, low out-come”. On this basis, this thesis centers on the following four factors to study how to improve English reading comprehension ability: reader’s background knowledge; reader’s linguistic knowledge; reader’s motivation and purpose and reading skills.

摘 要
阅读是人们从外界获取信息的手段之1。在科技、传媒飞速发展的今天,由于中国与英语国家的联系越来越密切,英语在各个领域显得越来越重要,而信息之间的互动、交流赋予阅读能力新的挑战。尽管大量的学生在英语阅读花费大量的时间,但是他们的成绩却很不理想,存在着“高投入,低产出”的问题。本文以此为基点,围绕下述4个侧重点—读者的背景知识;读者的语言知识;读者的动机与目的以及阅读技巧,尝试性研究了如何提高英语阅读理解能力。
