A Study On Heroism in American Movies

Abstract

Through linking the heroism in American movies to American culture, a study is made on individual heroism, moralism, patriotism, courageous and dedicative spirit. We can know American culture deeply, finding out the advantages and disadvantages from their contemporary life. Consequently, it helps us to make a referenced standard in knowing the values tropism from the American culture. The essay is mainly elucidating the origin of American value and the development in lives and movies.
From the beginning, a definition to heroism and an introduction to the American culture open a prolog for the essay. Then, the essay begins to introduce the origin of the Americans’ concept of heroism, the heroes in American history, and the Heroism in American culture. In the second stage, the thesis starts to discuss some examples about heroism in American movies. It contains western movie, police and bandit movie, movie talking about normal people’s life, war movie and epic movies. Afterwards, two different kinds of effects of American movies have been talked about. Finally, the conclusion makes the theme clear, that is people should accept the advantage of a foreign culture and get rid of the disadvantage of native culture.

摘 要

通过把美国电影中的英雄主义和美国文化联系起来，来研究个人英雄主义、道德主义、爱国主义、勇敢和奉献的精神。进1步了解美国文化，联系当代生活，找出其存在的利弊关系，帮助我们对美国文化中的价值取向做1个参考标准。本文主要阐明的是美国文化价值观的来源及其在生活和电影中的发展。
在开头，对英雄主义的解释和对美国文化的介绍给这篇拉开了序幕接着，开始介绍美国英雄主义的起源，美国的英雄和美国文化中出现的英雄主义。在第2阶段， 开始讨论1些实际美国电影中的英雄主义，其中包含西部片，警匪片，生活片，战争片和史诗片。然后，谈论了美国电影所带来的两种不同的影响。最终， 结论表明了主题，那就是人们应该学习外民族文化的精华之处，并摒弃本文化的糟粕之处。
