A Conceptual-metaphor-based on Interpretation of Poems
Abstract
Metaphor is pervasive, not just in language, but also in thought and action. Our ordinary conceptual system, in terms of which we think and act, is fundamentally metaphorical in nature. The Conceptual Metaphor Theory, posed by Lakoff & Johnson, is a systematic and influential theory. They claim that conceptual metaphor, using experiences of one conceptual domain to express experiences of another domain, is a universal phenomenon in human language. This thesis begins with a general survey of rhetorical and cognitive study of metaphor, and then demonstrates the relationship between the mapping nature of form-meaning of conceptual metaphor and the stylistic analysis. This thesis applies the theory of conceptual metaphor to analyze Shakespearian sonnet 2, aiming to find the theme of the poem—that is, young people should cherish his time and maintain his life and beauty by gestating a new life in order to feed back the nature and write a brilliant page in the journey of his life.

摘 要
隐喻是非常普遍的,不仅存在于言语中,也存在于我们的思维和行动中。普通的概念系统在本质上是隐喻式的。Lakoff&Johnson的概念隐喻理论是具有系统性、影响力很强的理论。他们认为隐喻普遍存在于人类的语言中,是人们思维、行为和表达思想的1种系统方式,是人类用其某1领域的经验来说明或理解另1类领域经验的认知活动。本以修辞隐喻和认知隐喻为理论基础,借以概念隐喻的形式与意义的映射关系本质说明它和文体风格有着密切的关系。通过分析莎翁104行诗第2首,对诗中所使用的1系列的概念隐喻进行解读,得出文章的主题,即年轻人应该珍视寸金光阴,并通过孕育新的生命来延续生命以保存他自己的美,回馈大自然,为自己在生命的旅途中记下光辉的1页。
