浅析《芒果街上的小屋》的女性形象

An Analysis of the Female Images in The House on Mango

Abstract

The House on Mango Street is a coming-of-age story about an adolescent Chicane in Mexican-American. This thesis focuses on analysis the female images and the heroine Esperanza’s growing stories which point out Esperanza as a new female being different from the traditional La virgin de Guadalupe and La Malinche. From that it explored Sandra Cisneros to Mercian-American’s traditional feminism values’ reveal and overturn. In her writing, Sandra Cisneros describes two traditional opposite female images --La virgin de Guadalupe and La Malinche through the heroine Esperanza telling. During the growing road, Esperanza comprehends the limitation and falseness and overturn the male will, for insure deceitful women’s images by the male designed from two kinds of the female images, that’s established her independent and self-awareness, open a new female space.

摘  要

《芒果街上的小屋》是1部美国墨西哥裔女性成长的小说。本文借助女性主义理论视角，重点分析了小说中两类传统的女性形象，通过分析女主人公埃斯佩兰萨的成长历程，指出埃斯佩兰萨是不同于传统的瓜达卢佩圣母型（La Virge de Guadalupe）和玛琳齐型（La Malinche）的新女性，从而揭示出作家桑德拉•西斯内罗斯对墨西哥传统女性价值观的反思和颠覆。她在作品中把两种对立的墨西哥的传统女性通过女主人公的讲述，充分的展现在读者面前。桑德拉笔下的女主人公领悟到这两类女性形象的局限性和虚假性，由此颠覆了按照男性意愿，为确保男性统治地位设计出来的虚假的妇女形象，确立起独立的女性自我意识，开辟出女性生存的新空间。 （科教论文网 lw.nSeAc.com编辑发布）
