MPEG-4视频编码技术分析
摘要:视频压缩技术是视频处理的基础,随着网络流媒体,无线视频等新的应用的出现,人们不断对视频压缩编码技术提出新的更高的要求。同时,相关组织也相继推出了1些视频编码标准,MPEG-4就是1种应用广泛而且非常有前途的视频压缩编码标准。
MPEG-4 国际标准的公布表明基于对象的编码、基于模型的编码等第2代编码技术趋于成熟。MPEG-4视频部分(ISO/IEC 14496-3)是MPEG-4标准核心内容之1,它既提供了传统的基于帧的编码方法也提供了基于视频对象的编码方法, 为高效压缩与基于内容的交互提供了坚实的基础。本研究了MPEG-4视频编码标准中可以提高压缩比的各种特性,对MPEG-4标准视频编码部分做了详细的描述, 并对MPEG-4视频的应用做了简要介绍。

Abstract: In this paper, a thorough study is carried out over the key algorithms of MPEG-4 video codec, several optimization methods are proposed to enhance the coding speed and promote the applications of video coding in actual practice . The discussion is mainly focused on how to getting high compression of MPEG-4 and the motion estimation algorithms are also discussed especially.
The MPEG-4 standard indicates the mature of the second generation coding technologies, such as object-based coding and model-based coding. MPEG-4 video part (ISO/IEC 14496-3) is one of MPEG-4 standard’s core contents. It not only supplies the traditional frame based coding way but also supplies coding way based on video object. Coding based on video object supplies strong base of highly efficient compression and content based interaction. This article gives fully description on M PEG-4 standard’s video coding part and gives brief introduction to the application of MPEG- 4 video in multimedia.
