外贸英语的语言特点及其翻译模式

Linguistic Features of Foreign Trade English and Its Translation Model

Abstract

With the development of global science and economy, high frequency of international corporation and communication, especially under the environment of China’s entry into World Trade Organization, Foreign Trade English, a bridge linking China and foreign countries, is playing a more crucial role, and is gaining increasing popularity. As one part of ESP, it has distinguishable features，namely lexical features, syntactic features and contextual feature. Besides, the FTE translation criterion is different from General English translation, such as literary English. Its translation criteria are faithfulness, exactness and idiomaticness. Combing its features and criteria and Roger T. Bell’s translation model, we discuss FTE translation model from three aspects—syntactic, semantic and pragmatic respectively on two translation process—analysis and expressing stage.

摘 要

随着全球科技和经济的快速发展，尤其在中国加入世界贸易组织后的国际间合作和交流不断加强的形式下，外贸英语，作为联系中国与外国的桥梁，起着愈加重要的角色，因此越来越多的英语专家开始对其进行专门研究。作为专门用途英语的1个部分，外贸英语从3个方面体现了其特有的特点，即词汇特点、句法特点和篇章特点。此外，外贸英语翻译不同于普通英语翻译，如文学英语，它的翻译遵循“忠实、准确、地道”。结合语言特点和翻译标准以及Roger T.Bell 翻译模式提到的研究步骤，本文从理解和表达两个翻译过程阐述了3个方面即句法、语义和语用来说明外贸英语的翻译模式。
