语篇翻译的情景分析

Context Analysis in Text Translation
Abstract

Among the linguistic achievements, text linguistics has the most direct effect upon translation exploration, so an efficient combination of text and translation study enables translation thinking to be carried out well beyond the limitation of word, sentence and even paragraph concepts. The translators can, based on faithfulness, have more liberty and creativity, and can even successfully detect the errors in the original text. Since the achievements of text linguistics were applied to translation practice, the translators have become more aware of the importance of context, an important component in text translation. In the field of context study, we have noticed Halliday’s context of situation. Interpreted by means of the conceptual framework using the terms ‘field, tenor and mode’, Halliday’s notion is the most influential up to now, but it has not been studied systematically. Therefore, this thesis presents a tentative study in the interrelationship between context and translation, by using Hallliday’s theory of context.

摘  要

在众多的语言研究成果中，以语篇分析对翻译的影响最直接。语篇分析与翻译的有效结合，使翻译思维摆脱了词、局和段本位的束缚。有时甚至可以帮助译者判断原文可能存在的错误，让译者在翻译时更加游刃有余，译文的质量能有整体性的提高。自从译界将语篇研究的成果嫁接到翻译学科以来，译界越来越注重“语境”在语篇翻译中的功能。我们注意到Halliday对语境的阐述是最有影响的，但目前并未能够系统性的研究。因此，本文将以Halliday的语境理论，即语场（field）、语旨（tenor）、语式（mode）为切入点，对语境与语篇翻译间的关系进行探讨性研究。
