论《吾国与吾民》中的女性描写

On Characterization of Women in My Country and My People

Abstract

Lin Yutang is a famous modern writer who is proficient in both Chinese culture and Western culture. Having received western culture in his youth, Lin Yutang was deeply influenced by the idea of gynaeolatry of western civilization. In theory, he has very pronounced views on both the equality between man and woman and womans independence. In his works, woman is always the main subject, which shows his love and respect for woman. The description of Womens Life in My Country and My People manifests Lin Yutangs great sympathy for the durance and seclusion of Chinese women. However, Lin Yu tang was also much influenced by the feudal male chauvinism, so he had to  stand unconsciously at mens position to maintain men’s dignity, showing his dual views towards woman. Taking the elaboration of female in the great cultural work—My Country and My People, uniting research methods of some scholars, analyzing the description of female and the author’s special narration objectively, this thesis explores the special female view which is not only improvable but also limited and proves the effect and inspiration of the modern society.

摘 要

林语堂先生是1位精通中西方文化的著名现代作家。由于从小就接受西方文化，林语堂深受西方文明中女性崇拜思想的影响，在理论上极力主张男女平等，女性独立自主的现代观念。在创作中也多以女性为题材，表现出其对女性的关爱和尊重。《吾国与吾民》中对妇女生活的描写，表现出其对妇女遭受禁锢和束缚的极大同情，极力主张女性解放的思想。但是，林语堂也受到了封建“男权”思想的影响，自觉不自觉地站在男性的立场上来维护男性的尊严，显示出其女性观的2重性。本文通过对文化巨著《吾国与吾民》中女性部分的阐述为基础，结合相关学者的理论依据和研究方法，对作者独到的评述角度进行客观分析，以探其既进步又有局限的独特女性观，以及它对现代社会的影响和启示。
