汉语语境中商务英语学习的障碍分析

On Obstacles of Business English Learning in Chinese Context

Abstract

Business English is a language for specific purpose of those specific talents who are or will be working in the line of business, and is a kind of standard English that includes sorts of business activities and meets business needs. When learning Business English (hereinafter, called BE), people need a language environment, which is called “context”. Without considering business context, BE learners will encounter all kinds of obstacles. In this thesis, I mainly talk about four parts. The first one is about the BE. I here have introduced the definition of BE, the traditional way of BE learning and the criteria of a good BE user. The second part is to introduce the concept and the importance of context and giving examples of mistakes made by Chinese BE students, which include verbal and nonverbal mistakes. The third part is to analyze the reasons why BE learners always make mistakes embodied in three obstacles, which are different values, different economic systems and culture discrepancy. The fourth part is to sum up the ways that aim at each obstacle for overcoming these obstacles. Through studying these problems, we can learn BE much better and more easily.

摘  要

商务英语是指那些正在或将在商业界工作的专才所使用的具有专门用途的语言，也是指包括多种商务活动以及满足商业需求的1种标准英语。学习商务英语时，人们需要1个语言环境，即“语境”。如果不考虑语境，商务英语学习者将会遇到各种各样的障碍。在该中，我主要讨论4个方面的问题。第1部分是有关商务英语，在此我介绍了商务英语的概念，传统的学习商务英语的方法以及1个好的商务英语学习者的标准。第2部分，我介绍了语境的概念及其重要性，并例举出了中国学生在学习商务英语时常犯的错误，包括言语错误和非言语的错误。在第3部分，我分析了商务英语学习者常犯错误的原因，这些原因主要体现在3个方面的障碍，分别是不同的价值观，不同的经济制度以及文化上的差异。而在第4部分，我针对以上障碍总结出相应的克服的方法。通过研究这些问题，我们能够更好更轻松地学习商务英语。
