语篇翻译单位研究

On the Unit of Text Translation
Abstract

    The unit of translation is one of the most complicated problems in translation theory. Since 1970s, academics both at home and abroad have defined the unit of translation from different angles. Although apparently divergent, it is generally acknowledged that the unit of translation is dynamic rather than static, and translator’s cognitive role is of great account. Translation would be chaos if the unit of translation was regarded as a certain linguistic unit. This thesis intends to look into the unit of translation from a textual perspective, based on the theory of Wilss, a German translation theorist, who suggests linguistic text (co-text) research and communicative text (context) research be involved in translation. The author suggests in conclusion that text be the main translation unit as text itself is flexible and operable.

摘  要

    什么是翻译单位？70年代以来，国内外研究学者都从不同角度对翻译单位进行了定义和划分。但是肯定的是翻译单位是1个动态的过程，译者的主体认知因素在翻译过程中起重要作用。单纯地把翻译单位等同于某1语言单位只会造成翻译的混乱。本文试图从语篇角度审视和定义翻译单位，并依据德国翻译理论家把对语篇的研究分为语言语篇研究和交际语篇研究的相关理论，探讨以语篇作为翻译单位的必要性和重要性。
