文学翻译中的误译现象初探

A Preliminary Research on Mistranslation in Literary Translation.

Abstract

With a close examination of literary translation, either from Chinese to English, or English to Chinese, the author analyzes the categories of mistranslation with the support of various examples. Mistranslation is divided into two categories: one is negative mistranslation, the other is positive mistranslation. Their effects can also be divided into negative effects and positive effects. It is concluded that, even though linguistic incompetence and irresponsibility may to a large extent precipitate mistranslation, which should be avoided by the translator’s utmost effort, the positive mistranslation should be encouraged for it is, to different degrees, conductive to the spreading of foreign works; sometimes helps disclose the potential meaning of the original work; in most cases, positive mistranslation contributes to the promotion of the national culture.

摘 要

由于翻译本身的复杂性和多变性，以及译者受到社会和本身主观性的影响，1系列的原因导致了误译现象的产生。文学翻译是1种特殊的翻译，它最大的特点就是艺术性的美感和艺术性的再造。通过对英汉和汉英文学翻译的研究，通过大量例子为支持，我分析了误译的种类，1是消极误译，1是积极误译。同样它们的作用也可分为消极和积极两类。因此本文拟得出以下结论：尽管语言能力和责任感的缺乏诱发了误译的产生，这1点也是译者应该尽力避免的，但积极误译是应该被鼓励的，因为积极误译，在1定程度上促进了外国作品的传播，有时候有助于揭示原作的深层含义，并且很多时候促进了国家民族间的交流提升。
