浅析影响英语阅读的因素

A Brief Analysis on Main Factors Influencing English Reading

Abstract

For an English learner, the level of reading ability decides whether information and knowledge can be absorbed effectively and quickly. However, the improvement of reading ability can not be accomplished in one move. It is influenced and restricted by some elements, such as vocabulary, grammar, reading skills and cultural background information, and so on. And in practical learning I find that students have many problems in their English reading, which lower the efficiency of reading and influence the improvement of reading speed and reading ability. This article, on one hand, offers some brief analysis of these factors, and on the other hand, it suggests some useful approaches to develop the English reading ability. To improve the reading ability, learners should first form good reading habits; broaden vocabulary by using the rules of word formation; and then improve self-cultivation of knowledge about culture background. It is very important for them to grasp some reading skills, such as, guessing words from the title, the context, the comparison, the definition, etc.; skimming; scanning; and so on.

摘  要

对于1个英语学习者，阅读能力的高低决定了能否快速有效地吸收信息与知识。但是阅读能力的提高并不是1蹴而就的事，它受到词汇，语法，阅读技巧以及文化背景知识等因素的影响和制约，在实际的学习中笔者发现，由于种种原因，学生英语阅读中存在着诸多问题，降低了阅读效率，影响了阅读速度和理解能力的提高。本文将对这些因素作简要分析并就如何克服这些因素给出1些针对性建议：学习者首先应养成良好的阅读习惯；通过构词法等扩大词汇量；要注意对不同文化背景知识的学习；另外，还应掌握1些阅读技巧，例如根据文章标题、上下文、比较、定义等猜测词义；略读；查读等，以便提高英语阅读能力。
