英汉习语的文化共性和个性的研究

A Study of the Similarities and Differences of English
and Chinese idioms
Abstract

As the two languages are used by the biggest majority of global people, both English and Chinese have a long history and rich vocabulary. However, between them there are lots of similarities and differences in their cultural conntations expressed. Idioms are crystallization of peoples wisdom, the cream of a language. Any language with a long history includes idioms of substantial content. Therefore, idioms are centralized embodiments of similarities and differences in English and Chinese. This thesis attempts to contrast the religion beliefs , literary allusions and daily life of sources, culture-bound words of sematics through similar and different analysis by display a lot of facts, trying to prove their similarities and differences.
In this thesis, the author shall make a brief study of the similarities and differences of English and Chinese idioms. First, the thesis introduces some definitions about language and culture, and then introduces the relationship between language and culture. Secondly, the thesis classifies the source of English and Chinese idioms. Finally, the thesis points out the similarities and differences in English and Chinese idioms as follow the conceptual meaning with similar associative meaning; the same conceptual meaning with different associative meaning; unique to one language.

摘  要

英语和汉语作为目前世界上使用人数最多且具有悠久历史和丰富词汇的两种语言，它们背后所表达的文化内涵存在着许多共性与差异。习语作为人类智慧的结晶可谓是语言中的精华。凡历史悠久的语言无不有内容丰富的s习语，经常应用于口语和书面语中。所以习语可以被看作英汉语言共性和个性的集中体现。本文拟从英汉习语的宗教信仰，文学寓言与日常的来源，习语的语义角度作共性与个性对比研究，用大量的事实证明英汉习语所具有的共性和个性。 （科教范文网 fw.nseac.com编辑发布）
