Cohesion Analysis of English Classroom Lecture Discourse
Abstract
Cohesion is an important term in text linguistics. The concept of cohesion is a semantic one. It refers to relations of meaning that exist within the text, and that define it as a text. This thesis explores Halliday’ cohesion theory and analyzes the classroom lecture discourse to establish a cohesion model. In the process of analyzing, it is easy to find that conjunction and reference are the two main cohesive devices. English teachers should not regard the classroom discourse as a collection of unrelated sentence but a unified whole. Meanwhile, they should choose proper cohesive devices according to different text features. So English teaching cannot be restricted to the teaching of vocabulary and sentence but foster the students’ ability to analyze discourse beyond sentence level. Cohesion analysis to classroom discourse has great significance to improve the teaching efficiency.

摘 要
衔接是篇章语言学的1个重要术语。它是1个句法概念,它指存在语篇中并使之成为语篇的意义间的联系。本文主要探讨了韩礼德的衔接理论,并对英语课堂话语进行分析,以便发现其中的衔接模式。分析过程中不难发现,指代和词汇衔接是两种主要的衔接手段。英语老师都不应该把教师授课话语单纯的认为是不相干句子的组合而应该把它们看成是有机整体,同时应该根据语篇特征,有选择性的使用衔接手段,这样才能提高理解效率。英语教学不应该局限于单词和句子,还应该上升到句子之外的话语分析。英语课堂话语的衔接分析对提高教学质量具有重要的意义。 (科教范文网http://fw.ΝsΕΑc.com编辑)
